Who are we?
El Buen Samaritano I.A.P. (The Good Samaritan) is a non-profit organization founded in 2006 by the Congregation of the Good Samaritan Sisters. Our mission is to provide free medical and food services to people living in poverty and extreme poverty from rural areas in the State of Mexico.
What do we do?
We provide four primary services:
General medicine consultations for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of diseases among the low-income population of Malinalco and the surrounding rural communities.
Hospice clinic for patients with chronic and terminal diseases. Annually, we care for more than 100 patients in poverty and neglect contexts who cannot receive medical care in public health institutions or at home.
Dining room for children living in poverty and extreme poverty where a nutritious and balanced meal is given daily to more than 150 children.
Through our pharmacy service, we provide free medications to both outpatient and ward patients.
What is our response to Covid-19?
We created a Food Drive to help 300 low-income families during one year.
We committed to covering the medical treatment of 290 people with chronic diseases (mainly diabetes and hypertension) for one year.
